The Red Grapes
As with the ‘basic’ white grapes, each of these three grapes is used to make single-varietal wines. However, you’ll often find Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon blended together (as in Red Bordeaux or many California Cabernets. The wines are placed in order from lightest body and least intense flavor to fullest body and most intense in flavor.
